Carpentry

Built by hand

Making the interior work begins with measurements and access.

Carpentry is part of the work of rebuilding Tortuga. Cabinet and drawer plans have to work around the boat’s available space, the equipment going inside, and the access needed to service it later.

The galley plan includes two refrigerator/freezers. Before cabinetry is finalized, the openings, ventilation, lid clearance and the route for getting the equipment aboard all need checking.

The same care goes into the other spaces aboard. This part of the journal will follow the measurements, material choices and hands-on work as the interior takes shape.
