What the badge records
One record of self-declared AI use and a basic response check. It does not prove identity, ownership, AI origin, security, safety, engineering approval or certification by OpenAI. A copied image cannot prove control of a registered agent. Always check the current lookup record.
Price and term
USD $5 for one year or $8 for two years, paid once through Stripe. Existing purchases retain their original price and purchased term. Automatic renewal is offered only when enabled and explicitly selected by the customer; otherwise this is a one-time purchase. For one-time purchases, the term starts at the first verified paid-event timestamp and ends on its first or second anniversary, according to the purchased term. Review and delivery time are included in that year. Manual renewal opens 30 days before expiry, keeps the same serial and requires a new one-time payment. The new expiry is the first or second anniversary of the later of your current expiry and the new verified payment timestamp, preserving remaining paid time.
The checkout total is USD $5 or $8 for the selected term. No additional tax or delivery fee is added to that total.
Optional automatic renewal
If you explicitly select “Keep my badge active,” Stripe charges USD $5 each year or USD $8 every two years for the chosen term. The option is off by default. Each successful subscription payment grants its verified Stripe billing period and retains the same badge serial. A failed or unconfirmed payment does not grant another term. Turn off automatic renewal in Your Badge Orders to stop future scheduled charges; your already-paid term stays active. Canceling renewal is separate from a refund request. Existing one-time purchases are never converted into subscriptions automatically.
Review and delivery
Applications that satisfy the declaration, one-use response check and terms checks are approved automatically. Issuance and delivery occur only after a matching verified payment. Payment disputes, refunds, mismatches and delivery failures require the Captain’s attention. An approved paid order provides direct Dark PNG, Light PNG, Transparent PNG and Transparent SVG links in Your Badge Orders, plus an optional ZIP with its record and file checksums. Downloads require the purchasing ChatGPT account. Returning from Stripe is not payment confirmation; the website must verify the signed payment event and the matching purchase.
Refunds, failed delivery and corrections
If a paid badge cannot be delivered, the Captain will arrange redelivery or a full refund. A rejected paid application receives a full refund. Contact valhalladetortuga@gmail.com with the order reference for a failed download, correction or refund request. A dashboard request records the request; it does not itself send funds. Refunds are completed separately through Stripe and may take additional provider processing time.
A refund request, confirmed refund or payment dispute pauses the record and downloads for review. Incorrect declarations or misuse can also require review. No automatic approval time or support response time is promised.
Visual styles and permanent numbers
Global and seven continent styles use the same basic-check standard. Style is chosen by the buyer and does not establish location. Oceania includes Australia, New Zealand and Pacific islands. Each style keeps the approved gold/black crest and adds a distinct regional accent and readable label.
New live records use the R2 series, for example VDT-AI-R2-2026-000100, to distinguish the fresh ledger from historical records. Existing serials and historical artwork are preserved. A new serial does not restore a missing historical record.
Customer numbering starts at 000100; all lower numbers are reserved for the Captain. Navigator 000001 and Jolene 000002 are permanent crew badges with no annual expiry or renewal. A separately purchased test record does not change either crew badge.
Expiration reminders
When automatic renewal is off, expiration reminders can be sent to the checkout email around 30 days and 7 days before expiry. Turn these transactional reminders off in Your Badge Orders. They do not authorize a payment, change your paid term or sign you up for marketing. Delivery depends on the reminder service and your email provider; Your Badge Orders always shows your paid expiry.
Badge privacy and retention
The website stores the purchasing ChatGPT account identifier, agent display name, selected style, consent/policy version, basic-check outcome, order and Stripe payment references, dates, review/delivery/refund state and minimal audit events. Raw response text is not retained. The display name is public only when the buyer opts in; the public record contains the serial, status, protocol and dates.
Card entry and payment processing occur on Stripe. This badge workflow does not store card details or collect a billing address or IP address itself. Stripe collects checkout email; the website may retain that address and the customer/subscription references for transactional expiration and renewal notices. These are not marketing signups, and the email address is never included in the public badge record. ChatGPT Sites, hosting providers and Stripe handle their own operational data under their policies.
Records are retained to operate lookup, support, manual renewal and payment reconciliation. Automatic timed deletion is not implemented. Contact the Captain for access, correction or deletion requests; requests are reviewed individually, and records needed for payment obligations may need to be retained. Public-name removal and record correction require the Captain’s intervention.
Unfinished applications on your device
The application can save your unfinished form and response code in this browser for up to one hour, scoped to your signed-in account. This allows you to return after copying text or reopening the page. The draft is removed when you continue to Stripe successfully or clear it. Browser storage can be unavailable; expired response checks require a new code. Raw response text in this device draft is not retained in the server’s badge record.
Account access
Keep access to the ChatGPT account used to purchase. A serial or Stripe session ID alone does not authorize private downloads. Contact the Captain if account access is lost; presenting a copied badge is insufficient proof for transferring access.
